New statistics graphs for every URL

November 17th, 2009

In a desire to constantly improve the quality of its products, Heptacube’s R&D team has recently added a brand new feature to Diffpuppy. The Web application now has the unique ability of showing its users daily statistics concerning the changes made to all tagged URL’s.

As an example, this page shows the statistics for Heptacube’s corporate website’s home page. As you can see, modifications to the tagged Web page are shown in an easy-to-read, intuitive graph that gives the number of characters added to or deleted from the page each day. One can even point to a particular date to visualize the exact amount of changes that have been made that day.

Not only is this feature completely unique to Diffpuppy, we also believe the publication of such statistics to have several uses. This includes:

- Monitoring the length and amount of posts or comments on a blog;
- Watching for unauthorized modifications to pages that are not supposed to change;
- Various publicity and marketing purposes.

Combined with Diffpuppy’s RSS feeds service, this functionality opens new doors to Web transparency and real-time tracking of Web sites updates. We hope that you will find many more uses to our Web application and its features.

Try Diffpuppy!

Heptacube recently launched this present blog for promoting one of its most promising applications: Diffpuppy. While we could put it in the same basket as social networking sites and other so-called web 2.0 productions, Diffpuppy undoubtedly brings forth new functionnalities to the internet surfer’s screen.

Indeed, Diffpuppy is at first glance a bookmarking website resembling other websites such as del.icio.us or Digg. But Heptacube’s web developement strategy is to go beyond established borders, to constantly innovate.

Diffpuppy is basically a web application that allows a user to bookmark a web page by associating it to a tag. More importantly, after a page is tagged on Diffpuppy, the user can choose the option to be notified by email every time a modification is made to the selected page. This option is especially useful for websites that don’t provide RSS feeds. The user can also compare different versions of the same page to quickly see how the page has changed since the last time he has visited it.

Heptacube deeply encourages you to visit Diffpuppy, to open an account and to start tagging your favorite web pages!

Furthermore, you can read additional documentation concerning this application, as well as a French version of this text, on Heptacube’s wiki.
